Hosted VoIP provides you with the benefit of clear calls without all that phone hardware and all the lines that come along with them. All it is, is software that gives you control over a VoIP system by using the internet. It works by transforming voice signals into digital signals so they can be sent and then back again into voice signals once they reach their destination.

The Advantages of this type of communications method is that it will cut your communications costs drastically; by more than 50% in some cases! You will be able to enjoy free and otherwise cheap calls to even international numbers. Since maintenance is practically nonexistent you won’t have to worry about your lines going down for a period of time where customers won’t be able to reach the business.

If you own a large corporation you will be able to take advantage of features such as multiple extensions and extension dialling just as you would with your regular landline phones. The best part is that you can easily add and subtract lines as your business changes and you can easily do this yourself right on the internet!

Since VoIP is dependent on the internet you can use VoIP wherever you have the internet. That thus means that you don’t have to stay in the office all day and when you are physically out of the office you can still be virtually in the office.

If you are running a business you will benefit more from VoIP than someone who has a personal account. Since companies spend a lot on communications they will save equally a lot when they switch over to VoIP. Business VoIP packages tend to have further discounted rates as well depending on the size of the business.

If you choose to use a hosted VoIP service your company will benefit greatly from this. You will save money on a lot of features. There is no line rental fee, you will be able to add and subtract extensions at will, and your overall phone rates will be reduced even to regular phone lines. You will also get free calls that are made within your office even if offices are in different regions, once they are both covered by the same VoIP provider.

You will not only save money but you will also save time. There will be no training for IT staff as the system is very user friendly and you can control all the basic settings as long as you have internet access. You will have the regular necessities such as voicemail and call waiting just as you did with the regular phone line but this time at no extra cost. You will be able to convert voicemail into email messages and all sorts of things that weren’t possible with regular lines.

If your receptionist or call forwarding operator is using VoIP they will be able to channel even more calls than they would with the regular phone system when using hosted VoIP.
Hosted VoIP is definitely the way of the future when it comes to communication. It provides businesses with lower costs and higher reliability and functionality making the business more efficient and thus more profitable.

The following is a guest blog post, and does not neccasarily reflect the views or opinions of s3voip.

The World has now turned into a global village in its real meaning, all distances and barriers seems to be ending with modern era of telecommunication and internet. The World Wide Web is now a web knitted over the entire globe. People themselves are dispersed in land for various purposes, tourism, enjoying holidays, business, education, immigration to other countries and many more reasons. In this situation, interacting with each other becomes an increasingly important need for everyone; especially all of the above stated people need to contact their homes. Advances in telecom industries allowed people to talk as much as they want with anyone and anywhere in world. But specifically for International purposes, as everyone knows the cost is so much that it becomes virtually impossible for people to carry on conversations with their loved ones. VoIP is a one remedy to this problem in which large companies like Axvoice have emerged and broadened the operations of Home Phone Service. Home Phone Service is at the moment one of the most inexpensive way of contacting each other. Moreover, its network is has now spread everywhere.

The technique by which communication is done through VoIP is not at all complicated; it involves just throwing information signal all the way through internet instead of standard wires – which our regular landline phones do. Plenty of ways used to go online through VoIP Service, one can use it through computer, with many software now available, which enables you to generate call from PC. The best thing of the part is that PC-to-PC call is totally free of cost; making life easy for specific businesses like call centers, who save enormous amount of money by using these software. Besides this calls from PC can be directed towards landlines and mobile phones as well, but they require a certain payment mechanism to be followed, which is not a high cost thing. Established and performing companies like Axvoice provides many packages of payment; now increasing trend has been seen for prepaid cards, in which people pay for the credit in advance, sit back and enjoy the services. Using VoIP Phone Service through computer provides many more advantages than just a phone. The advantages like, video conferencing, built in call recording software, and obviously much lesser call rates than what we pay every month for our traditional phone service. By putting software in your mobile phones or notebook one can enjoy the benefits of Home Phone Service on the go. One can get pleasure from all other supporting facilities of call forwarding, call waiting, and audio conferencing as well. Not to just emphasize on free of cost calling facility of software, Home Phone Service provides outstanding call packages and rates on normal phones as well. The rates for calling on landlines and other phones are also tremendously.

Axvoice is definitely a company that can be relied in this scenario. With a good market reputation, large network around globe and high tech services providing, consumers who want to try Home Phone Service should use Axvoice and staying free from worries.

VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol has taken the telecommunications world by storm. Use and popularity of this service has been growing in recent years and the growth seemingly has no intention of stopping. Why all this growth? Because of the affordability of the service while keeping all the benefits of PSTN networks and adding even more benefits on top of those.

The installation is very easy and it takes little time for experts to set it all up and be out of your hair. There is the option to use your regular phones with VoIP by employing what is known as an analogue telephone adapter. Other things you may need include IP phones (these are phones specifically designed to work with VoIP, many VoIP phones take AA rechargeable batteries that can last many hours) as well as routers depending on how you intend to use the service and for what purposes. To reduce the amount of phones used one can combine a modem and router. Using a computer also makes the accessing of ones VoIP account easier but having a computer is not essential. It is the ease of installation and the affordability of the service that is attracting so many customers these days.

Not all VoIP service providers provide address registration when calls are sent to emergency numbers such as 999. If the provider doesn’t have this, then your best bet will be to keep your mobile phone at hand (and ensure your battery is recharged). You can also keep one line from your old service in the event there are prolonged power outages.

There are many service providers currently and the list will continue to grow if the demand remains high. You will find pretty much the same things at each provider but standard fees may vary slightly. It is the overseas rates and other long distance rates that you will see a sizeable difference in. Try your best not to base which provider you chose solely on your budget, think about your needs as well especially if you are running a business. You will find that a more efficient communication method will make your business more productive so don’t skim on money to lose business productivity. If you do business with persons mostly in one part of the country you can take a number with this area code so that customers can make an affordable call to your business. This also boosts productivity as well.

According to new research published by AMI-Partners, VoIP is forecast to experience continued growth within the telephony market in 2011. The study states that over 30% of small businesses (1-99 employees) and 50% of medium businesses (100-999 employees) say that IP-based telephony systems will become increasingly important for their business operations in the coming year.

VoIP has been on the rise for a number of years now since its breakthrough into the business telephony market, and with more and more companies understanding the benefits of VoIP, that trend is set to continue into the New Year.

Karen Nielsen, a senior consultant at AMI-Partners, explained that “moving into 2011, cost savings, as well as the advanced features available with IP, will impel more and more SMBs (small-to-medium businesses) to IP architecture implementation”.

The research by AMI relates to US telecoms, but VoIP within the UK is becoming increasing popular too. The cost-saving ability that IP telephony offers in comparison to traditional systems is tempting more and more business owners to make the switch.

In today’s society, SMEs (and even up to large corporations) are very much dependant on technology – and it can even been seen as important as the employees themselves in some instances. In the case of communications, it is absolutely vital that a company can connect effectively with other partners and customers, which is where VoIP can be highly beneficial.

There are many benefits to choosing a VoIP service provider for business telecoms solutions, the main of which are the cost-saving abilities and portability. Complete call management is more necessary as businesses become more active than ever before, with employees being able to manage email and calls on the move.

As touched on above, the first major benefit to using a VoIP solution is the cost-saving potential of replacing a traditional telephony system with an IP-based network. Long distance and international call costs are greatly reduced due to calls being made via the internet, as opposed to standard telephone lines. Without the need for expensive hardware and extensive setup costs (and time), a VoIP network can be up and running within a business very quickly.

The second key benefit to choosing a VoIP provider for business communications is the portability of an IP network. For employees who need to make and receive calls from outside of the office, a connection can be quickly established – routing all traffic through the new location, set by the network. Each employee can quickly have access to a dedicated line within the communications network, with quicker lead times than setting up new connections with traditional providers such as BT.

One final key benefit (among the many that we could talk about) is the scalability of a VoIP network. As mentioned above in terms of the portable nature of VoIP, it is also a very quick and easy means for new lines to be setup – which is an area where a traditional telephone network lacks. If you’re an expanding company with new employees (or the need for more lines) then these can all be setup and working within a very short time period – while also providing you with full call management in terms of logging, routing and functionality.

Many small-to-medium sized businesses across the UK are beginning to switch to VoIP systems, as opposed to the traditional telephony networks that have so-long dominated the telecommunications industry. VoIP technology offers a low-cost alternative for businesses, with many advanced features and benefits.

Advanced and Affordable Solutions

Due to the ongoing rise of VoIP, there is obviously a rise in the number of people who wish to offer VoIP as a service to businesses – which makes choosing the right provider vitally important. Although some of the bigger providers may offer VoIP solutions, their core services are usually centred on personal VoIP calls to replace landlines within a home, so it is also important to go with a specialist and dedicated VoIP for business provider.

Generally, VoIP solutions come in different packages based on the requirements of your company. The more staff and offices you have, the more a voice over IP package is likely to cost – so it is difficult for a provider to give an accurate quote without first understanding you needs (which is why you are unlikely to find set prices for business VoIP providers throughout the web).

If you can find a provider that is local to your business then that will be beneficial. Although the nature of VoIP means that it can be supported over the net, it is still important to be able to be in close contact with a dedicated support team should you need any installation or maintenance help.

Reliable Technical Support

One important factor which was touched on above is that with so many new providers coming to the table, not all of them will have a lot of experience within the sector. Selecting a VoIP provider that has been around for a few years is vitally important – as it can give you the peace of mind knowing that you are working with experts in the field, which are experienced.

Chose a Reliable Provider

A telecommunications system for your business is no doubt an investment you are likely to make without a lot of consideration. Although it can be easy to keep with what you know (ie. a traditional telephony system), there are many advantages to using a VoIP solution. Talk to a VoIP provider that is up-front and willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

The government of Barack Obama is working on a law that expands the powers of interception by U.S. authorities on the Internet significantly. Communications services would be required to so-called interception interface in their products incorporate a, reports the New York Times (NYT). The law is to be presented to Congress next year.

Services were thus legally obliged to provide a technical capability to comply with court orders for wiretapping. This also applies to foreign operators who offer their services in the U.S..
The law grants the authorities, according to NYT explicitly allow access to encrypted services such as the Blackberry systems from Research In Motion or the VoIP service Skype one. The operator should provide either the content in intelligible form or provide the law enforcement a “duplicate” is available.

The advance of the U.S. government comes in response to complaints by prosecutors: They had fewer opportunities to intercept terrorist suspects, because the communication process and more often over the Internet. “They want the authority to reorganize services to the now ubiquitous and unique architecture of the Internet based on,” said James Dempsey, vice president of the advocacy group Center for Democracy and Technology to the NYT. “Basically, they want to go back in time and squeeze in a scheme of Internet services so they work just as before the phone system.”

The U.S district court has sentenced a hacker in the State of New Jersey for his audacious approach of exploiting VoIP service providers.

Edwin Pena was given the ten year prison sentence this week according to computer magazine PC World. The 27 year old had allegedly exploited the networks of several popular VoIP providers, stealing an estimated 10 million minutes of calls illegally, and sold the minutes on for profit. This is the first time a U.S court has sentenced a VoIP hacker.

Hacked into the networks of more than 15 VoIP providers

The Venezuelan male had already been accused in February of hacks from more than 15 telecommunications companies. He is said to have routed over their networks to access the data without paying for it. After he had been legitimized in the VoIP networks as alleged VoIP wholesaler, he was able to sell telephone services to low discount rates and reap high profits for himself.

Besides the prison term, the offender must pay more than one million U.S. dollars in compensation. In addition, he will be deported after serving his sentence in Venezuela. VoIP providers such as Net2Phone, Novatel, and Go2Tel have suffered damage of more than 1.4 million U.S. dollars.

According to a recent study of Bitkom, the number of conventional phone lines declined last year to 32.8 million while there was a significant rise in calls over the Internet. Other types of communication via cable or DSL are on the rise too.

The decline in price of Internet connections has certainly contributed significantly to the rise in VoIP calls over recent years, with analogue telephony suffering. Frequently, these are switched without conventional phone line, but rather use the switched Internet bandwidth for the realization of the telephone line.

DSL and cable-double flat rates starting at 20 euros per month

Current package deals start at just 20 euro monthly fee. Customers can choose it for the realization of both DSL and cable TV. In addition to an Internet flat rate with a transfer rate of up to 16 Mbit / s and a fixed flat rate for free calls to any German fixed-line, customers benefit from a service called Unify, with which it provides a fixed charge on all calls. September also receive new customers a welcome bonus of 50 euros. A similar DSL offering, but with a maturity of 24 months, is also available in 1 & 1 . For the Surf & Phone Flat customers pay if ordered until the end of September only 19.99 euros per month over the entire term.

Customers who want to get a cable connection will prefer quick and low pay may still want to, at Cable Germany will find it. Months of cable operators charged EUR 29.90 per month. The double-flat package includes a flat rate for calls to German fixed network and an Internet flat rate with a download speed of up to 32 Mbit / s. The matching wireless router is provided to the customer free of charge. For online orders to 14 September customers also receive an online bonus of 50 euros.

Analogue, ISDN and VoIP

The traditional phone line forms in Germany are the analogue and ISDN connection. Due to higher connection costs, they are no longer offered by providers that often. With an analogue connection, the customer receives a telephone number and a phone line. Analogue is the port but not because the teaching is just like a digital ISDN line. In the ISDN connection, the customer, however, has two phone lines, which can be used simultaneously and at least three phone numbers. The language is during phone calls in real time, either analogue or digital (ISDN) transmission.

With Voice over IP, the language is first digitized, then short sequences together in packages and sent as a language. At the receiver, the voice packets are then combined to complete speech sequences. Due to technological progress of recent years, consumers can see the in most cases no difference in sound quality between the classical transmission and Internet telephony more.

In the examples of Alice and 1 & 1, the integrated telephone connection is implemented as a telephony via DSL. This means that language is used to transport over lines divided into digital data packets at the receiver and converted back into speech.
